- Spa Etiquette
The atmosphere at Kneaded Relief is one of healing and calm. Please respect that peace and tranquility by silencing cell phones. We encourage you to arrive early so you can relax. First-time guests will be asked to complete an intake form; therefore, please arrive a few minutes early, so that you will not miss any of your well-deserved treatment time. We ask that an adult accompanies children. Finally, we suggest gratuities which reflect the quality of your service.
TO OUR VALUED GUESTS
Your appointments are very important to all members of our team at Kneaded Relief. Time allocated for an appointment is reserved, especially for you. We do understand that sometimes schedule adjustments are necessary; therefore, we respectfully request at least 24 hours’ notice for adjustments to your appointments and for cancellations. All our policies are designed to benefit our guests and provided in the best quality and tradition of excellent servicing for our established and future clientele.
CANCELLATION POLICY FOR OUR VALUED GUESTS
Please understand that when you forget or cancel your appointment without giving enough notice, we miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time, and clients on our waiting list miss the opportunity to receive services they need. We ask that all new and current guests supply a credit card to have on our files. All cards on file are added to the system via a secure electronic process that ensures the information is encrypted and remains secure. In the event that we do not receive the required notice for adjustments and cancellations, the following fees will be applied to your card or alternatively billed out to you:
- Notification given at least 24 hours prior to your appointment will receive no charges.
- Notification given less than 24 hours prior to appointment time will result in a flat rate charge of $25.
- Failure to show up for your appointment will result in a full-service charge of the reserved service amount.
TIPPING
Tipping is a customary “social norm” in American culture, but most people still question what the proper amount to tip is. Should it be based on service or should customers pay a flat rate of 20 percent of the total cost? The 20 percent tip is commonly found in the food industry, but how does it differ for other service-based jobs?
Most people recommend tipping 15% – 20% but this is based on each your comfort and satisfaction with the massage
So if a 60-minute massage costs $75, the tip would be $11 to $15. For services that total $100, the tip would be $15 to $20. While a 30-minute massage at $45, the tip would be $7 to $9.
Of course, the tipping amount would depend on the price and what the you think the quality of the massage was.
CONFIRMATION EMAILS
As a courtesy, we will send out an email to confirm your service appointments two business days prior to your appointment date. We do understand how easy it may be to forget an appointment; therefore, all our appointments are confirmed 48 hours prior via email for your convenience. Please ensure that we have your current email address on file in order to be able to do so in a way that may be beneficial to you. It remains your responsibility to remember your appointment dates and times to avoid late arrivals, missed appointments, and help us service our guests better by providing enough notice to avoid the cancellation fees.
PRODUCT STORAGE & RETURNS
We recommend products be stored in a cool, dark place. Our manufacturers’ return policies bind us and, when possible, offer exchanges or credits on returns. All purchases may be exchanged within 30 days of purchase for store credit. Sale items may not be returned. We require returned containers to be unopened (except for defective product) and, if you have allergies, we would like to suggest you sample before purchasing.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Each appointment begins with a private discussion with your therapist about your goal for the session. You will be asked about your medical history and areas of concern that might influence your session. Together, you and your therapist will determine the area(s) to be treated and the amount of pressure you wish to receive. Your goal may be simply to relax, or you may wish to have your session focus on a particular area of discomfort.
- Each treatment room is both private and comfortable. You will find the décor and soft music to be conducive to relaxation.
- You will be left in private for both undressing and dressing. During your session, only the portion of your body being worked on will be exposed. Draping with sheets and blankets is an important part of our ethics and standards. We respect your privacy and modesty.
- You may choose to be silent or talkative during the session. Your therapist will check in with you to determine the right amount of pressure.
- Communicate anything that makes you uncomfortable – temperature, scents, techniques, anything. This is your session! Your therapist wants you to get the most out of it.
- After your session, your therapist will discuss your experience during the session. Please take this opportunity to make us aware of anything we could do to make your next massage experience even more beneficial to you.
- Following your treatment, drink plenty of water. This will assist the body in eliminating toxins that were trapped in your muscle tissue and maximize the benefits of your massage.
