Last Updated: September 12, 2026

Kneaded Relief Massage & Spa (“Kneaded Relief,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us.

This Privacy Policy explains the types of information we may collect when you visit our website, schedule or receive services, purchase products or gift cards, communicate with us, or otherwise interact with Kneaded Relief Massage & Spa. It also explains how we use and share information and the choices available to you.

This Privacy Policy applies to Kneaded Relief Massage & Spa and our locations in Southgate, Livonia, and South Lyon, Michigan.

1. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us. We may collect information that you provide directly to us as well as certain information collected automatically when you use our website or online services.

You may also voluntarily provide information concerning your health, medical history, symptoms, injuries, medications, allergies, pregnancy, recent procedures, physical limitations, treatment goals, or other conditions that may be relevant to determining whether a massage, skincare, or other service is appropriate for you.

Please provide only information that is reasonably necessary for us to assist you or safely provide the service you are requesting.

2. Massage, Wellness and Health-Related Information

Massage therapy and certain spa services may require us to obtain information about your health and physical condition so that our professionals can provide services safely and appropriately.

Depending upon the service, we may ask about matters such as:

  • Areas of pain, discomfort, tension, or sensitivity

  • Medical conditions
  • Recent surgeries or medical procedures

This information may be documented in intake forms, service notes, treatment records, appointment records, or other business records.

We use this information for purposes such as evaluating the appropriateness of a service, customizing your session, maintaining continuity between visits, communicating with you about your services, documenting services provided, and meeting applicable professional, business, insurance, or legal requirements.

Kneaded Relief takes the confidentiality of client information seriously. Access to service-related information is limited to personnel and service providers who reasonably need the information to perform their duties or provide services.

Health Intake Forms Are Kept Separate From Advertising and Analytics Technology

Health-related intake forms and treatment notes are completed on paper in our locations, through a secure client portal provided by Mindbody, or on website pages and forms that do not run Google Analytics, Google Ads, the Meta Pixel, or other advertising or analytics tracking technology. We do not place advertising or analytics scripts on any page where clients enter symptoms, medical history, medications, injuries, pregnancy status, or other health information, and those pages and forms are not used to build advertising audiences or measurement data.

If this practice changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required by law, obtain any necessary consent before collecting health-related information on a page that uses advertising or analytics technology.

Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to represent that every record maintained by Kneaded Relief is subject to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”). Different privacy, confidentiality, professional, insurance, and recordkeeping requirements may apply depending upon the nature of the service and circumstances involved.

3. Appointment Scheduling and Mindbody

Kneaded Relief uses Mindbody and related technology to help manage appointments, client accounts, scheduling, purchases, communications, and other aspects of our business.

When you schedule an appointment online or use services provided through Mindbody, information may be collected or processed through Mindbody’s systems. This may include your contact information, account information, appointment history, purchases, service preferences, payment-related information, and other information associated with your interaction with Kneaded Relief.

Mindbody may process certain information on behalf of Kneaded Relief and may independently process certain information under its own privacy policies and terms.

When you leave the Kneaded Relief website and access a Mindbody website, application, booking interface, or other service, your interaction with that service may also be governed by Mindbody’s applicable privacy policy and terms.

4. Payment Information

When you purchase a massage, spa service, product, package, membership, gift card, or other item, payment information may be processed by Mindbody, our merchant processor, credit card networks, banks, or other payment service providers.

Payment information may include information such as:

  • Cardholder name
  • Billing address
  • Payment card information
  • Transaction amount
  • Date and time of transaction
  • Products or services purchased
  • Transaction authorization information

Kneaded Relief does not need access to your complete payment card number for many electronic transactions because payment information may be transmitted directly to and stored by the applicable payment processor.

We use payment and transaction information to process purchases, issue refunds when appropriate, maintain financial records, prevent fraud, resolve billing questions, and meet accounting, tax, and legal obligations.

5. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, certain information may be collected automatically by our website, hosting provider, analytics providers, advertising partners, security services, or other technology providers. This does not include the health intake pages and forms described in Section 2, which do not carry analytics or advertising technology.

This information may include:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) address
  • Browser type
  • Device type
  • Operating system
  • Approximate geographic area
  • Referring website or source
  • Pages viewed
  • Links or buttons selected
  • Date and time of visits
  • Time spent on pages
  • Website navigation and interaction information
  • Advertising or campaign information
  • Cookie and similar technology identifiers

We use this information to operate and secure our website, understand how visitors use it, identify technical problems, improve our website and services, measure marketing effectiveness, and better understand how customers find Kneaded Relief.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website and third-party services we use may place cookies, pixels, tags, scripts, or similar technologies on your browser or device.

These technologies can help us:

  • Remember website preferences
  • Understand website traffic
  • Measure how visitors use our website
  • Improve website performance
  • Determine how visitors found us
  • Measure advertising effectiveness
  • Prevent fraud or misuse
  • Deliver or measure advertising

Some cookies are necessary for website functionality. Others may be used for analytics, advertising, or other purposes.

Your browser may allow you to block, limit, or delete cookies. Disabling certain cookies may affect the operation or functionality of portions of the website.

Where required by applicable law, we will request consent before using certain non-essential cookies or similar technologies, and we will honor a recognized opt-out preference signal, such as the Global Privacy Control (“GPC”), where legally required to do so.

7. Google Analytics and Google Advertising Services

Kneaded Relief may use Google Analytics and other Google services to understand website traffic, visitor activity, advertising performance, and how people find and interact with our website.

Google Analytics may collect information such as device and browser information, approximate geographic information, website interactions, session information, and identifiers stored through cookies or similar technologies.

We may also use Google advertising features, including Google Ads conversion measurement, remarketing, or similar services. When these features are enabled, Google and Kneaded Relief may use cookies or other identifiers to measure advertising performance and, where applicable, deliver or evaluate advertising.

As described in Section 2, Google Analytics and Google advertising tools are not enabled on pages or forms used to collect health-related information.

Information collected through Google services is also subject to Google’s applicable privacy policies and controls.

You may be able to control advertising personalization through your Google account, browser settings, device settings, cookie preferences, or other tools made available by Google.

8. Meta, Facebook and Instagram

Kneaded Relief may use Meta technologies in connection with Facebook and Instagram advertising, including the Meta Pixel or similar measurement and advertising tools.

These technologies may allow us and Meta to understand actions taken after someone views or interacts with an advertisement, measure advertising effectiveness, create advertising audiences, and display advertisements to people who may be interested in Kneaded Relief.

As described in Section 2, the Meta Pixel is not enabled on pages or forms used to collect health-related information.

Depending upon your browser, device, Meta account settings, cookie preferences, and the technologies being used, Meta may receive information about your interaction with our website.

Meta’s collection and use of information through its platforms and technologies is governed by Meta’s own privacy policies and settings.

9. Email Communications

If you provide your email address, we may use it for purposes such as:

  • Appointment confirmations
  • Appointment reminders
  • Scheduling communications
  • Receipts
  • Customer service
  • Responses to inquiries
  • Important service or policy notices
  • Promotional offers
  • News or announcements
  • Requests for feedback or reviews

You may unsubscribe from promotional email communications by using the unsubscribe mechanism included in the communication when available. Consistent with federal CAN-SPAM requirements, our marketing emails will identify themselves as advertisements where required, include our valid physical business address, and provide a working opt-out mechanism.

Even if you unsubscribe from promotional emails, we may continue to send non-promotional communications that are reasonably necessary for an existing appointment, transaction, account, customer service request, or other business relationship.

10. Text Messages and Telephone Communications

If you provide a mobile telephone number, Kneaded Relief or a service provider acting on our behalf may use that number for communications relating to appointments, scheduling, customer service, account matters, and other services you request.

Marketing or promotional text messages are sent only where you have provided prior express written consent, which we collect separately from any general acknowledgment of this Privacy Policy — for example, through a dedicated opt-in checkbox, signup form field, or keyword text (such as texting a signup word to us) that specifically describes marketing text messages and is not pre-checked or bundled with other consents.

Message and data rates may apply depending upon your wireless carrier and service plan.

Consent to receive marketing text messages is not a condition of purchasing services from Kneaded Relief.

You may opt out of marketing text messages at any time by following the instructions contained in the message, including replying STOP when that option is provided.

Opting out of marketing messages may not prevent communications that are necessary to respond to your request or administer an appointment or transaction when permitted by law.

We do not sell your mobile telephone number to third parties for their independent marketing purposes.

11. How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to:

  • Schedule and manage appointments
  • Provide massage therapy, skincare, spa, and related services
  • Communicate with clients
  • Respond to questions and requests
  • Customize services
  • Maintain client and service records
  • Process payments and purchases
  • Administer gift cards, packages, memberships, and promotions
  • Send appointment confirmations and reminders
  • Provide customer service
  • Improve our website and services
  • Understand website traffic and customer interests

  • Comply with applicable professional, insurance, regulatory, tax, or legal obligations

We may also use information for other purposes that are reasonably related to the reason it was collected or that are disclosed to you at the time information is provided.

12. When We May Share Information; Sale and Sharing Disclosures

Kneaded Relief does not sell personal information for money. However, some state privacy laws (such as those in California, Colorado, Connecticut, and other states) define “sale” or “sharing” broadly enough to include the use of advertising technologies — such as Google Ads remarketing or the Meta Pixel — that transmit identifiers to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising, even though no money changes hands.

To the extent our use of these advertising technologies is considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under applicable state law, you may opt out by:

  • Using the cookie preference tool available on our website, where offered
  • Enabling a recognized Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, which we will honor where legally required
  • Adjusting Google Ads and Meta advertising settings directly through those platforms, as described in Sections 7 and 8
  • Contacting us using the information in Section 22

We do not use or knowingly permit the use of health-related information described in Section 2 for cross-context behavioral advertising, and that information is not shared in a manner that would constitute a sale or sharing under applicable law.

Service Providers and Other Disclosures

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to operate our business or provide services, including to companies that provide services to us, such as:

  • Appointment and scheduling platforms
  • Payment processors
  • Website hosting providers
  • Information technology providers
  • Email and text messaging providers
  • Analytics providers
  • Advertising and marketing platforms
  • Accounting and professional service providers
  • Security and fraud-prevention providers
  • Business software providers

These providers may receive information necessary to perform services for Kneaded Relief and may be subject to their own contractual and legal privacy obligations.

We may also disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, a subpoena, court order, legal process, regulatory requirement, insurance requirement, or other lawful request.

Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, property, or legitimate interests of Kneaded Relief, our clients, our employees, or others.

If Kneaded Relief or substantially all of its assets are sold, merged, reorganized, transferred, or acquired, information maintained by the business may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable law. Any successor entity will be required to handle personal information in a manner materially consistent with this Privacy Policy, or will provide notice to affected clients of any material changes to how their information is handled.

13. We Do Not Sell Health Information for Advertising

Information you provide to us concerning your symptoms, injuries, medical conditions, medications, massage treatment, or other health-related matters is collected for purposes related to providing services, maintaining appropriate records, administering our business, or meeting applicable requirements.

We do not sell this information to advertising companies for their independent advertising purposes, and, as described in Section 2, we do not place advertising or analytics technology on the forms or pages used to collect it.

We also do not intentionally provide massage intake forms, treatment notes, or similar client treatment information to Google Analytics, Meta, or other advertising platforms for targeted advertising.

14. Data Security

Kneaded Relief uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure.

These measures may include access controls, passwords, secure technology providers, staff procedures, and other safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information.

No website, electronic communication, database, or information system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted to or maintained by us.

If we experience a breach of security involving your personal information that triggers a notification obligation under Michigan’s Identity Theft Protection Act or other applicable law, we will notify affected individuals and any required regulators in the manner and timeframe required by law.

Please use reasonable caution when sending sensitive information through email, text messages, social media, or general website contact forms.

15. How Long We Keep Information

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and as necessary to operate our business, provide services, maintain appropriate client and transaction records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with applicable legal, tax, accounting, insurance, professional, and recordkeeping requirements.

Different categories of information are generally retained as follows, though actual retention may vary based on applicable law, professional recordkeeping obligations, or an active dispute or legal request:

  • Client health intake forms and treatment notes: retained for a minimum of 7 years following the last date of service, consistent with common professional recordkeeping practice, unless a longer period is required by law
  • Appointment and scheduling records: retained for the duration of the client relationship and generally up to 7 years afterward
  • Payment and transaction records: retained as required for accounting, tax, and audit purposes, generally up to 7 years
  • Marketing email and text message contact information: retained until you unsubscribe or opt out, plus a limited period to process and record that request
  • Website analytics and advertising identifiers: retained according to the applicable retention settings of Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Meta, as configured by us and disclosed in those platforms’ own privacy policies

When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we take reasonable steps to securely delete, anonymize, or archive it.

16. Your Privacy Choices

Depending upon the nature of your relationship with Kneaded Relief and applicable law, you may contact us to:

  • Update or correct certain contact information
  • Ask questions about information we maintain about you

  • Unsubscribe from promotional email
  • Opt out of promotional text messages

Some information cannot be deleted immediately or may need to be retained because of legal, financial, insurance, professional, contractual, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or recordkeeping requirements.

Requests involving information maintained independently by Mindbody, Google, Meta, a payment processor, or another third-party service may need to be directed to that provider.

17. Do Not Send Sensitive Information Through General Website Forms

Our general website contact forms are intended for ordinary inquiries.

Please do not submit highly sensitive medical, financial, insurance, identification, or payment card information through a general website contact form unless we specifically request that information through an appropriate method.

If you need to discuss sensitive information related to your services, please contact Kneaded Relief directly so we can help determine an appropriate method of communication.

18. Third-Party Websites and Services

Our website may contain links to websites, booking platforms, social media platforms, payment services, or other online services operated by third parties.

For example, selecting an online booking link may take you to a service operated by Mindbody.

Once you leave our website or interact directly with a third-party service, that provider’s privacy policy, terms, and security practices may apply.

Kneaded Relief is not responsible for the privacy practices, security, content, or policies of independently operated third-party websites or services.

19. Social Media

Kneaded Relief maintains a presence on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.

Information you post publicly, send through social media, or provide directly to a social media platform may be processed according to that platform’s policies.

We recommend that you avoid sending confidential medical, financial, or other highly sensitive personal information through public posts or social media messaging.

20. Children’s and Minors’ Privacy

Our website and online services are intended primarily for adults and are not designed to collect personal information online from children under 13. Kneaded Relief does not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13 without appropriate parental or guardian authorization. If we learn that we have collected personal information online from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

Massage therapy and spa services provided to minors (individuals under 18) are subject to the following additional requirements:

  • A parent or legal guardian must provide advance written consent before a minor receives any service
  • A parent or legal guardian must complete or review the minor’s intake and health history information
  • A parent or legal guardian is generally required to be present on-site, and in some cases in the treatment room, during the minor’s service, consistent with our location’s policies and the service being provided
  • Additional identification or consent documentation may be required depending on the minor’s age and the service requested

Parents or guardians with questions about our policies for minors should contact a location directly before scheduling.

21. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our services, technology, business practices, third-party providers, or applicable requirements.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. If a change is material — for example, a change that expands how we use health-related information or that affects a sale, sharing, or opt-out right described in Section 12 — we will provide additional notice, such as a prominent notice on our website or a direct communication, before the change takes effect where required by law.

We encourage visitors to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
